At Onland we design contemporary buildings, interiors, and civic projects that celebrate shared space, sculptural form, and context- both metropolitan and rural.
Our team is focused on collaborations with clients and groups who share our belief that great design springs from smart questions.
We bring formal, material, and technical rigor to the table. Yet we believe in personal connections and long-lasting relationships with the communities and individuals we work with.
Prior to launching Onland, Principal Architect Landon Brown was Studio Director of Toshiko Mori Architect. He was also co-founder and Director of VisionArc, a strategic design, research, and visualization consultancy working at the nexus of the built environment, natural resources, and social cohesion. He previously worked in the offices of Hashim Sarkis Studios, OMA, and CookFox.
His projects and collaborative work have been exhibited internationally and featured in Architect, A+U, Domus, The Plan, Hyperallergic, The New York Times T Magazine, New York Magazine, The New Yorker, Fast Company and in recent books by Lars Müller Publishers, DesignMatters, and Architangle.
Landon is currently Visiting Assistant Professor at Pratt Institute within the Graduate Architecture & Urban Design school. He teaches architectural design in the Core Design Studio and leads research efforts within the Pratt Decarbonization Working Group at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
Landon earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a Master of Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. He has been a visiting seminar speaker at Harvard and guest design critic at Princeton, UC Berkeley, University of Michigan and elsewhere. He is a board member of Arts&Rec, a visual arts, educational, cultural, and recreational non-profit organization located in upstate New York.
Landon is a member of the American Institute of Architects and a registered architect in Massachusetts and New York State.
